Email Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Short version: Remimo sends transactional email only, and only one kind: a one-time link that unlocks a protected video. We don't send newsletters, promotions, or email to purchased or rented lists, and we never share email addresses with anyone else.

1. What we send

Owners of a Remimo card can protect their video with the "email link" method. All of our email comes from noreply@remimo.me and is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES).

EmailWhen it is sentContents
Unlock link ("Your Remimo unlock link") (a) Once to each address the owner lists when they turn on email-link protection. (b) Again only when someone opens the video, chooses that address, and asks for a new link. A single-use link that expires after 15 minutes, and a note saying you can ignore the email if you didn't expect it. It has no advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party content.

We send no other email from the Remimo service. We don't send marketing, re-engagement, or "digest" email.

2. How addresses are collected

  • Recipients are added one by one by the owner of a specific video, so that they can watch that video. Addresses are never bought, rented, scraped, or imported in bulk.
  • An email-link protected video can have at most 5 allowed addresses. Each address is tied to one video only, and we never use it for anything else.
  • Owners must agree in our Terms of Service to add only people who know them and expect to receive the video.
  • New links are sent only when someone asks for one on the video's page, and only to an address that's already on that video's list. The page never shows whether an address is on the list.

3. Unsubscribing and opting out

The unlock email isn't a subscription, so there's nothing to unsubscribe from on a regular schedule. If you no longer want to receive these emails:

  • Ignore it. The link expires after 15 minutes. We won't send you another one unless someone actively asks for it.
  • Ask us to block your address. Email support@remimo.me with the subject "Remove my address" (or reply to us from the address in question). We'll remove it from every video and add it to our suppression list within 2 business days. After that, Remimo won't send any more email to that address.
  • Mark the email as spam. Spam complaints reported by your mail provider automatically suppress your address. We treat every complaint as an opt-out.

4. Bounces and complaints

  • We use the Amazon SES suppression list for both bounces and complaints. If an address hard-bounces or someone marks our email as spam, SES automatically stops sending to that address.
  • If sending to an address fails when a video is first protected, we cancel the protection setup and tell the owner. This stops bad addresses from being saved.
  • We watch our bounce and complaint rates and keep them well below industry limits (under 2% bounces and under 0.1% complaints). If the rates go up, we look into it and can suspend email-link protection for the videos involved.

5. Sender authentication

Mail from remimo.me is signed with DKIM for that domain, and remimo.me publishes a DMARC policy of p=reject, so receiving servers reject mail that fails authentication. Mail claiming to come from Remimo that fails these checks isn't from us. Please report it to support@remimo.me.

6. Abuse

Using Remimo to send unwanted email (for example, by adding addresses of people you don't know) breaks our Acceptable Use rules. Report abuse to abuse@remimo.me. We'll investigate, and we may remove the protection, the video, or block the card.

7. How we store email addresses

Email addresses on a video's allow-list are encrypted at rest with a dedicated AWS KMS key. They are only decrypted when an unlock email is being sent. Unlock tokens are random, single-use, and deleted automatically after they expire. Our Privacy Policy has the full details.
